Crowley
King Of Hell
Or is he now? Once feared by all the demons down in Hell. Currently, Lucifer's (ex) lapdog. His reputation went down the rail as he lost control of his domain. Voices whisper that his soft spot for the Winchesters is to blame, specially his soft spot for Dean that grew stronger mainly after spending a significant amount of time together when guiding him in his process of becoming a demon, even referring to the older Winchester as his 'bestie'. His connection with Sam feels lightly different as the younger brother doesn't seem to trust Crowley at all, while Dean, even though protesting and with reserves, eventually keeps surprising himself with the now former King Of Hell.
Humiliated, this affected his pride, destroying all the layers he placed up over the years. Layer after layer, his own personal hell came to assault him. Seeing his mother, loosing hell for the Archangel, it all have been to much. Frequently he fights his urges for pleasures he should avoid. He drowns himself in them, addictions burning the skin of his host away. Like a wounded animal he strives to get back into his feet, slowly gathering the respect he once lost.
The respect had once been earned by an iron fist. His patience runs low and his intolerance for stupidity runs even lower. Known for his sassy remarks, one could say he was also King Of Sass, delivering his comments right before he puffed someone out of existence. All because he was simply bored. That was what everyone used to fear in him, the fact that he was impracticable and while in his presence you never knew if you would live another day or be reduced to dust.
The relationship with his mother? Complicated. He despises the woman but at the same time he doesn't seem to be quite able to get rid of her. Love? Hate? None of the previous options? Perhaps hes presence is a reminder of that humanity he so desperately clings on. Why though? If he intends to be King Of Hell once again? Doubts and despise, all assault him and he can't be blamed. It is his mother after all. However, that same mother is the one that claims coldly that he was conceived in an orgy as if it was nothing. Suffering abuse from her, seeing how she even tried to sell him as merchandise, it was with great pride that he saw the look on her face when she realized, when she met him, that she was Crowley, The King Of Hell. This meant something to him, it was a victory.
Moving on to what happens when everything stated above and more overloads his brain. It's like hell fire burning his cells. Impatience comes back to the surface and it looses it, with episodes of personal combustion in which he punches everything in sight and screams at everything that moves.
Not to mention the kills. The kills that give him so much adrenaline, the forbidden one, the pleasure he keeps running away from.
All these features make him jump from being main antagonist to anti-hero.
But more impressive then anything else, it's his capacity to step back into his feet and face the world, heaven and hell. The way he is constantly brought down and keeps coming, his posture and facial expression flawless, firm, worthy of a King.
They are all good, but he's Crowley.
