Diana WIP

The world has changed many times over since the ancient Greeks, and since the disappearance of the gods many truths became legends. Medusa, the Minotaur, the gods themselves were are real, but by sheer will of disbelief did they all disappear, although the gods have never left the world, but only weakened enough to stay hidden while other powers take over. Civilizations fell, great Empires rose, such as the Romans, the Persians, the Christians, so on and so forth, but the greatest civilization of the ancient Greeks were known as the Amazons. A society made up of women and ruled by a Matriarchy, known as their Amazonian Queen, and on Scythia, their home island, was where they were born and raised. Born from the blood of gods, Harmonia, the goddess of harmony and peace, gave them the skill of a harmonious society, an empire built on women supremacy, and woman power. The Greeks believed Harmonia gave them the ability to be great diplomats and those who can conduct their own, basically giving them superior independence and intelligence.

Although, the Amazons were known for being fierce warriors, which they receive that from their father Ares, the god of war, and such relations could be seen in their culture and on the fields of battle. Amazons have the strength of ten grown men and can pin a single man to the wall with little effort, and are very skilled in the arts of battle. The first Amazonian child was known as Hippolyta, and she was the one who led her people to greatness, becoming both feared from the outside, and respected by her sisters of war, the Amazons. Hippolyta was made Queen and modeled the Amazonian empire in an image that has long sense been an impact on the Greek world. The Amazons were known to raid neighboring villagers and slaughter all the men within the village, or taking some back to Scythia to be used as slaves and by means of reproducing more Amazons.

Amazonian culture is very structured and the women warriors have conducted themselves to those very same traditions for centuries. Upon birth, Amazonian children are beginning to learn the ways of combat, beginning with no fear or to strike someone with a blade. Amazonians begin with exposing the children to only women, creating the sisterhood early, and keeping their eyes and feelings away from male exposure. When the girls are old enough they are directed towards one of the males they keep in their compound, mostly it’s those who are weaker and obviously do not fit as beneficial partners to the Amazons. The girls will then pick a weapon of their choice and slay the man, either by a quick death or a slow and painful death, though it is up to the young girl’s discretion. Mostly children who get to this stage are at the age of ten, and when they make the kill their real training will began afterwards.

The island where the Amazons are found was gifted with horses far more powerful and bigger than that of normal horses. Ares gifted them with horses of war, you could see the muscles and veins off of the horses’ bodies, showing the might that it has as they have incredible speed and endurance. Although, these horses are unruly and crazed, so when an Amazon is ready they will tame the horse and ride it, though if they lack the skill the horse will surely kill them.

Queen Hippolyta would choose her own mate to conceive her children with and she had many girls, though she did also have sons who were sold into their own slavery. The Queen made it known that women would govern everything as it would be a society where the man holds no power, and those only from her bloodline would be able to assume the right of becoming Queen. Traditionally, the Queen wields her golden crown with the gift from Ares, the golden girdle, and when a Queen’s time has passed, Queen Hippolyta would pass away and her eldest child would assume the position as Queen and retain those honorary items, then when she passed her child would assume the role as Queen, and all of this was done to the point when a brown haired baby, named after their greatest Queen, Hippolyta, was born.

All the traditions have carried down to even the more previous of times, although everything had to change to make it more discrete and the Amazons had to play the game even smarter. Hippolyta II’s mother did the one thing that no other Amazon has ever done, but she believed it to be necessary if they wanted to stay relevant in the world. Diana, Hippolyta’s mother, married a man who owned a very successful trucking business that would soon reach global standards, and Diana made it just in time to marry him and kill him. Although, she made the death look like an accident, and before she killed him she made sure that he would sign over the company to her if anything ever happened to him. Apparently Mr. Rizzoli had a car accident, off of a cliff, and his body could not be recovered, so the pregnant Diana assumed as leader over his company, then brought the Amazons in.

The Amazons took to their normal traditions and stole people out of their homes and killed families, only leaving women behind or taking them along with them. The weakest were slaughtered and the strong were brought as slaves, though the way Diana was doing it was very messy and has gotten many of them into trouble with the law, if not killed by provoking the police. During her reign she was also raising little Hippolyta while trying to handle the huge ass mess, but the Amazons as a whole was having a hard time adjusting to new times. They all had to leave from their island a long time ago and integrate with humans, but most did not make it, but Diana was able to bring back the Amazons to their former glory. Although, retaining the power they once had was slipping and slowly the Amazons were disappearing, dying even because something out there are much more different than what they are used to.

Although, when Hippolyta was old enough and gone through her training, and when her mother passed a way, she was able to resume as Queen of the Amazons. A lot of pressure is placed on Hippolyta II and it is a lot of things her mother has not done and probably couldn’t do, but the odds did not stop her as she was going to bring her people out of the dark ages. The Amazonian Queen came up with an ingenious way of going about their lives, and it is based off of human trafficking. They would use the trucks and bring the people they capture all the way to their base and imprison them, keeping them fed, which is pretty much all the Amazons do for their slaves.

Hippolyta also changed how the Amazons go about introducing their girls into Amazonian culture, instead of keeping the fathers alive and killing the weak. Hippolyta decrees that the fathers will be killed by their daughters because it is weakness to only kill those who are weak, and those who are weak will not be given the freedom of death. The weak became servants for the Amazons, serving them food and attending whatever needs they may have.

Hippolyta brought the Amazons out of darkness and into the light, bringing back hope into the world for the Amazons. Hippolyta moved the Amazons into the sleepy town of Mystic Falls, although she did it for a very good reason, which she has the suspicion that the Olympians were indeed back. The gods of the old are returning? Hippolyta could not believe that they were, even though the Amazons have kept their beliefs strongly on that of the Greek Pantheon, so even when their prayers weren’t heard nor granted, they continued to show their devotion. The move wasn’t definite until she heard about the cries of war, between the angels and the gods, so when Hippolyta heard of the war cries she and her people came running.
Right now, the Amazons are in secret within Mystic Falls doing what seems as truck driving, but in those trucks are people being transported to an abandoned building. Inside is where the Amazons are thriving, but soon things that are kept in the dark will soon come to light. The Amazons will soon have to face what is happening out in the war, but they are women of war, and they will bring just that.
